🔺ESSENTIALS FOR ANY TYPEFACE ON YOUR WEBSITE 🔺

Make sure you choose any typeface you choose has at least 4 font variations:

🔺 Regular (or sometimes 300)
🔺 Bold (sometimes 700)
🔺 Italic
🔺 Bold Italic

Using bold and italic within your content (for short phrases) really helps readers navigate a page 🙂.

If your chosen typeface doesn’t have these different fonts (or files, as I rather confusingly say in the reel…😳) built into it, it won’t be possible 😞.

The only exception (isn’t there always one?!) is your Site Title typeface. This will only be used specifically for this, so a single font is fine.

If you’re confused about typeface v. font, you’re not alone. They’re often used incorrectly (by me too 😂).

Correct usage:

🔺A TYPEFACE is the whole design.

E.g. ARIEL is a typeface.

🔺A FONT is the specific weight and style within a typeface.

E.g. ARIEL 16pt BOLD is a font (file) within the Ariel typeface family.

SAVE for when you’re choosing your website typefaces - or if you realise you need to change them!
