Why we weren’t featured on Grand Designs
It wasn’t because our house wasn’t good enough – it was. The producers loved the design.
We were only 3 days away from filming our house mega-revamp (1950s bungalow supercharged into Eco House) when Channel 4 decided we weren’t going to be featured after all.
It was because we weren’t going to create enough problems.
Why none of the usual cliff-hanger problems?
Two simple things.
Penny’s strength as an architect was designing buildings that actually got built. And Fred’s power as a project manager was making sure everyone did their jobs as well as possible.

I do all your support, plus all the behind-the-scenes techie stuff to keep you safe and secure.
I’m a real do-er, and shows in the fact I’ve been a rowing coach for many years, as well as a project manager, builder, systems analyst, lemonade-bottle filler, trainee accountant (I’ve been around a long time…).
I’m the one who’ll set your website up to your specifications and coach you while you get it up and running and beyond.
Favourite coffee? Flat White, of course – full-fat milk, with half a spoon of sugar.

I’m the one who builds the template for your website.
After a roundabout route studying History of Art and working as a book editor, I trained as an architect, and now bring the design expertise I developed in creating functional and beautiful physical spaces to crafting website templates that work well and look great.
And I see numbers in colours, which may explain the beauty I find in coding.
Favourite coffee? Flat White too, but never with sugar or always with the fullest fattest milk.
